Falcon Copper and Glencore International have officially entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on critical minerals<\/a> projects. This strategic partnership aims to fortify the domestic supply chain within the United States.<\/p>\n

As reported by Detik Finance, the agreement establishes a non-exclusive framework for both entities to work together on global initiatives. These projects are designed to ensure a steady flow of copper and other vital minerals to the US market.<\/p>\n

A primary component of the collaboration involves Glencore delivering up to 1.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of copper concentrate. This supply is intended for Falcon\u2019s proposed smelting and refining facilities located within the country.<\/p>\n

The primary objective of this move is to guarantee that copper concentrate, intermediate metals, and finished goods are processed domestically. By keeping production within US borders, the companies aim to reinforce national supply chains.<\/p>\n

According to the MoU, Falcon Copper may act as either an investor or an operator in these projects. Meanwhile, Glencore is expected to provide comprehensive support involving capital, logistics, marketing, and offtake arrangements.<\/p>\n

Each joint project will be developed with its own unique structure, which the companies will tailor on a case-by-case basis. While the agreement is currently non-binding, it includes standard protocols for confidentiality, compliance, and dispute resolution.<\/p>\n

Falcon Copper Executive Chairman Travis Naugle highlighted the significance of the partnership for American infrastructure. He noted that the deal represents a major move toward creating a secure, end-to-end copper supply chain in the US.<\/p>\n

“This agreement is a meaningful step toward building a secure, end-to-end US copper supply chain.”<\/p>\n

“Pairing Glencore’s scope and size with Falcon’s international production of critical minerals and its smelting project in Arizona helps close a critical gap in America’s mineral infrastructure.”<\/p>\n

This collaboration follows other major moves by Glencore in the minerals sector. In March 2026, Centaurus Metals finalized a binding offtake agreement with Glencore for nickel concentrate from the Jaguar Nickel Sulphide Project in Brazil.<\/p>\n

In that specific deal, Centaurus committed to providing 20,000 dry tonnes of high-grade nickel concentrate every year.
