The hosts controlled the game from start to finish and confidently secured a place in the Round of 16, scoring seven unanswered goals.<\/p>\n<p>Bern\u2019s dominance was evident from the opening shift. Less than a minute in, <a href=\"#playerId=017a5ba6f51d19d065fec686\">Miro Aaltonen<\/a>\u2019s shot from the slot hit the post, bounced along the goal line, and was accidentally knocked into the net by a Belfast defenceman to make it 1-0. <a href=\"#playerId=d8dd133352f0df3d6156259d\">Emil Bemstr\u00f6m<\/a> doubled the lead at 7:19, and <a href=\"#playerId=152ef3ad8415f8c03e82b999\">Alain Graf<\/a> extended it to three when he converted on the powerplay at 13:59.<\/p>\n<p>The second period followed a similar script. At 28:46, <a href=\"#playerId=8085917e355885c36832ac15\">Marco M\u00fcller<\/a> circled behind the net and fired the puck into the top corner to make it 4-0. Moments later, <a href=\"#playerId=4c8aee37ffb24d99d35852c9\">Benjamin Baumgartner<\/a> added another, giving Bern a commanding five-goal cushion heading into the final frame.<\/p>\n<p>Bemstr\u00f6m struck again in the third period, tapping home a rebound off the end boards to make it 6-0. <a href=\"#playerId=ac11852d81da1d03d2a40efd\">Nils Rhyn<\/a> added one more to round off the scoring as Bern cruised to a dominant 7-0 victory.
