A new\u00a0$220-million investment is slated for the Morrisville area.<\/p>\n
Novartis Pharmaceuticals is planning an expansion with a new building at its Research Triangle Park campus.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The new facility\u2019s primary purpose will be the manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients for solid dosage tablets, capsules, and RNA therapeutics.<\/p>\n
The company says it\u2019s part of the goal to bringing more pharmaceutical manufacturing to the U.S. from overseas.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re excited about this expansion, which highlights Wake County\u2019s continued excellence in the life sciences sector,\u201d Chair Don Mial of the Wake County Board of Commissioners said.<\/p>\n
\u201cCompanies like Novartis know that we have the skilled workforce they need to fill their new positions with talented, dedicated professionals who will take their business to the next level,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The building will be at Pathway Triangle. It\u2019s comes alongside a recent\u00a0$771 million announcement<\/a>\u00a0made by the company into Durham and Wake County in November. The company said it expects the investments to create more than 700 jobs in RTP over the next 5 years.<\/p>\n \u201cNorth Carolina continues to lead in advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing, and Novartis\u2019 expansion in the Triangle reflects our state\u2019s talent and innovative spirit,\u201d Gov.
