{"id":62210,"date":"2026-05-08T13:50:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T13:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/62210\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T13:50:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T13:50:10","slug":"abb-india-net-profit-declines-25-in-march-quarter-rediff-moneynews","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/62210\/","title":{"rendered":"ABB India Net Profit Declines 25% in March Quarter: Rediff Moneynews"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ABB India reports a 25% drop in net profit to Rs 342 crore for the March quarter due to revenue mix, input costs, and project execution.<\/p>\n<p>New Delhi, May 8 (PTI) Electrification and automation major ABB India on Friday reported over 25 per cent decline in its net profit to Rs 342 crore for the March quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The net profit stood at 457 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2025, a company statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The company follows a January to December fiscal year. <\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the company reported a profit before tax of Rs 462 crore for the quarter. <\/p>\n<p>The company explained that profitability was impacted by an adverse revenue mix, execution of lower-margin orders, and elevated input costs amid forex volatility and slower project execution. <\/p>\n<p>Electrification saw a revenue conversion of a large order in Q1 CY2025 (January-March 2025). <\/p>\n<p>Motion experienced a price drop in some markets and products, and automation profit was softer due to lower revenues, it stated.<\/p>\n<p>Geopolitical tensions in West Asia led to limited export disruptions, but materially increased logistics complexity across the value chain, resulting in higher costs and elongated supply timelines, it added.<\/p>\n<p>Its revenue for the quarter rose 6 per cent to Rs 3,184 crore compared to the first quarter of the last year (Rs 3,010 crore in January-March 2025).<\/p>\n<p>Total orders in the first quarter (January-March 2026) amounted to Rs 4,280 crore (over 25 per cent year-on-year), representing a strong start to the year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our effective conversion of market opportunities into higher order inflows has further strengthened our diversified order book and enhanced revenue visibility,&#8221; Sanjeev Sharma, Country Head and Managing Director, ABB India, said.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board has unanimously approved the proposal to seek shareholders&#8217; approval for the appointment of TK Sridhar as Managing Director, with effect from January 1, 2027, for a term of 5 years, subject to shareholders&#8217; approval.<\/p>\n<p>The term of Sanjeev Sharma as Managing Director will end on December 31, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Board has approved the proposal to seek shareholders&#8217; approval for the appointment of Sanjeev Sharma as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director, with effect from January 1, 2027, for a term of 2 years, subject to shareholders&#8217; approval.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ABB India reports a 25% drop in net profit to Rs 342 crore for the March quarter due&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":62211,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[130],"tags":[232,9925,1627,34186,2129,10076],"class_list":{"0":"post-62210","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-abb","8":"tag-abb","9":"tag-abb-india","10":"tag-financial-results","11":"tag-march-quarter","12":"tag-net-profit","13":"tag-sanjeev-sharma"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@ch\/116539282447384176","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/62210","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=62210"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/62210\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/62211"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=62210"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=62210"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=62210"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
