{"id":62251,"date":"2026-05-08T15:00:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T15:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/62251\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T15:00:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T15:00:09","slug":"geneva-chamber-seeks-swedish-days-parade-entries-shaw-local","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/62251\/","title":{"rendered":"Geneva Chamber seeks Swedish Days parade entries \u2013 Shaw Local"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/tags\/geneva\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/tags\/geneva\/\">Geneva<\/a> Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to participate in the Swedish Days Parade in June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">The parade will step off at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 28 from the corner of Center Street and Anderson Boulevard, according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Some suggestions for parade entries are music, costumes and props, signage and walking in formations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Applications are due by May 15. The parade committee and the chamber will decide on honorarium requests. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Applications can be made online at <a href=\"https:\/\/members.genevachamber.com\/events\/details\/swedish-days-parade-registration-81893\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/members.genevachamber.com\/events\/details\/swedish-days-parade-registration-81893\">members.genevachamber.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">The parade will follow its usual route: South on Anderson, east on State Street, south on South Third Street, and end at the Metra train station.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/kane-county-chronicle\/2026\/04\/13\/smaller-swedish-days-parade-is-back-on-in-geneva-cancellation-reversed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/kane-county-chronicle\/2026\/04\/13\/smaller-swedish-days-parade-is-back-on-in-geneva-cancellation-reversed\/\">The parade was briefly canceled<\/a> this year, then it was back on as volunteers stepped up to organize and sponsor a smaller version of it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">State Street Jewelers, Blinka Optical, Inluro, Liz &amp; Kate Boutique, Royal Wren, Urban Artisan and the Geneva History Museum were the Chamber members that stepped up to organize and sponsor the parade this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Geneva Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to participate in the Swedish Days Parade in June.
