{"id":62878,"date":"2026-05-10T05:18:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-10T05:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/62878\/"},"modified":"2026-05-10T05:18:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-10T05:18:08","slug":"halifaxs-nestle-workers-secure-inflation-beating-pay-rise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/62878\/","title":{"rendered":"Halifax&#8217;s Nestl\u00e9 workers secure inflation-beating pay rise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">WORKERS at Nestl\u00e9 have secured an inflation-busting pay rise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">More than 1,200 staff across UK sites including Buxton, Carlisle, Halifax, Tutbury, and York, will receive a 3.9 per cent increase as part of a one-year deal secured by Unite.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The pay rise is 0.3 per cent above the current Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Sharon Graham, general secretary of Unite, said: &#8220;This deal was achieved because Nestle workers are in a strong union and benefit from collective bargaining.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Unite does what it says on the trade union tin \u2013 achieving better jobs, pay and conditions for our members.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The increase will be backdated to April 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Pat Mcilvogue, national officer for food, drink and agriculture at Unite, said: &#8220;This deal is another example of why food, drink and agriculture workers looking for a better deal at work should join Unite and organise their colleagues to join too.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"WORKERS at Nestl\u00e9 have secured an inflation-busting pay rise.
