Swiss Re has promoted Trent Thomson as Head Global Specialty and successor to Anne Lohbeck, effective 1 July 2026, the reinsurer announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Thomson, who is currently CEO Australia & New Zealand, will be based in London for the new role. He has been with the business for 22 years, starting as a casualty underwriter. Since then, he has led regional teams and managed key global clients in APAC and the US.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Thomson also worked in casualty and liability underwriting roles at Munich Re, AIG and RSA.<\/p>\n

Thomson\u2019s appointment adds to a series of recent leadership changes across Swiss Re\u2019s global and regional businesses. Earlier this month, the reinsurer appointed\u00a0Dean Galligan<\/a>\u00a0to the newly created Head of L&H Transactions role.<\/p>\n Within Asia Pacific, the reinsurer has recently named\u00a0Anna Ziswiler<\/a>\u00a0as head of P&C Reinsurance for Southeast Asia, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.
