Who will pay for their new boats now?\n                <\/p>\n<p>It was a dark day back in 2023 when Allen\u2019s announced it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.delicious.com.au\/food-files\/news-articles\/article\/allens-discontinues-fantales-lollies\/nedkmub5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">discontinuing Fantales<\/a> \u2013 everyone\u2019s favourite choc-coated chewy caramel that we all still hold such fond memories of. Probably because we all still have a bit of one stuck in our back molar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So when a rumour started circulating that Fantales were returning, Aussie lolly fans were all in a tizzy. It certainly made sense \u2013 nostalgia is big business in the food space at the moment. A dream destroyed.Credit: NewsWire \/ Brenton Edwards<\/p>\n<p>The rumour \u2013 which was doing the rounds on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/AustralianNostalgia\/comments\/1r26bmm\/what_discontinued_products_from_back_in_the_day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Reddit thread<\/a> \u2013 was linked back to food content creator Russ Eats, who spruiks new and returning food items on his social media platforms. But sadly, it appears that it was just that \u2013 a rumour, and nothing more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to 9Honey, Nestl\u00e9 (which owns Allen\u2019s), said they were not bringing back our beloved Fantales, crushing our dreams just like a Fantale pulverises a dodgy dental filling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe stopped making Fantales back in 2023 due to declining sales and the significant investment needed to continue to make them,\u201d a Nestl\u00e9 spokesperson told 9Honey. \u201cWe don\u2019t have any plans to bring them back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So that\u2019s that then.
