Z\u00fcrich Zoological Garden, privately owned zoological park<\/a> partially funded by the city and canton of Z\u00fcrich<\/a>. Opened in 1929, the 10-hectare (25-acre) zoo<\/a> exhibits nearly 2,100 specimens of more than 380 species. It is home to many ungulates<\/a> and a breeding group of Humboldt penguins<\/a>. Its specialties include vicu\u00f1as<\/a>, pygmy hogs, snow leopards<\/a>, Arabian oryx<\/a>, and Rothschild\u2019s mynah birds.
