UBS has moved to strengthen the presence of its Global Wealth Management (GWM) arm in Australia via the appointment of a new country lead covering Advisory and Sales, Wayne Gordon.<\/p>\n

Commencing in the new role from 1 July, Gordon will spearhead the team developing investment strategies for clients in partnership with their advisers based on their investment goals and needs, across private equity, alternatives, Unified Global Alternatives (UGA) and more.<\/p>\n

For the new role, which will build on Gordon\u2019s already 12 years with UBS spent mostly in the Chief Investment Office (CIO) covering Commodities, he will relocate from Singapore back to Sydney and report to both Andrew Bird, Head of GWM Australia, and Jasmine Koh, Head of Advisory & Sales GWM South East Asia (SEA) & Japan India Australia (JIA), as the firm looks to \u201cleverage regional capabilities into our Australia franchise\u201d.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the appointment, Bird said it was the next step in strengthening UBS\u2019 \u201con-the-ground capabilities\u201d to support the local market as a \u201ckey pillar of our APAC growth strategy\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis appointment reflects our continued commitment to Australia as a strategic market and reinforces our focus on building a strong, locally-led franchise to deliver sustainable, client-driven growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWayne brings over two decades of experience across global markets, spanning portfolio management, investment research, and client advisory.<\/p>\n

\u201cWayne\u2019s extensive network across key stakeholders in the Hong Kong and Singapore hubs, as well as globally, will be instrumental in further integrating the Australia business into the broader regional and global platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition, he will play a pivotal role in driving solutions across our business divisions, ensuring that our clients benefit from a seamless and truly integrated OneUBS experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
