Three people were transported to the hospital after police say a minivan pulled out in front of a semi-truck, causing a crash that left heavy damage in Lake Zurich.<\/p>\n

The Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department and Lake Zurich Police Department responded around 6:40 p.m. Monday to Ensell Road and Telser Road in Lake Zurich for a vehicle crash with injuries.<\/p>\n

Members of the Long Grove Fire Protection District and Countryside Fire Protection District happened to be in the area and arrived before Lake Zurich.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews reported finding a two-vehicle crash with heavy damage.<\/p>\n

Lake Zurich Deputy Police Chief Colin Gaffney said the crash involved a 2019 Volvo semi-truck and a 2012 Honda minivan.<\/p>\n

An investigation determined that the Honda, driven by a 38-year-old Lake Zurich woman, was stopped westbound on Ensell Road at the stop sign at Telser Road.<\/p>\n

The Volvo, driven by a 43-year-old Schaumburg man, was traveling northbound on Telser Road approaching Ensell Road, Gaffney said.<\/p>\n

The Honda pulled out in front of the Volvo, resulting in the semi-truck colliding into the driver\u2019s side of the minivan.<\/p>\n

Traffic on Telser Road does not have a stop sign at the intersection but traffic on Ensell Road does have a stop sign in both directions, Gaffney said.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Honda, as well as two passengers, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital.<\/p>\n

The driver of the Volvo was uninjured and declined transport to the hospital.<\/p>\n

Officers cited the driver of the Honda for failing to yield at an intersection and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, Gaffney said.<\/p>\n

Police temporarily shut down the intersection until a tow truck responded and towed the minivan.<\/p>\n
