{"id":68815,"date":"2026-05-20T08:57:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T08:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/68815\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T08:57:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T08:57:14","slug":"nestle-expands-recycling-initiative-in-kedah-with-swcorp-partnership-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/68815\/","title":{"rendered":"Nestl\u00e9 expands recycling initiative in Kedah with SWCorp partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR: Nestl\u00e9 (M) Bhd is expanding its plastic waste recycling initiative, Project SAVE, in Kedah through a collaboration with the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp).<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the group said Project SAVE, which supports household waste separation and recycling through weekly door-to-door collection of dry mixed recyclables, is on track to reach 300,000 households nationwide by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2020, the programme has expanded to about 260,000 households across nine cities. In 2025, the initiative diverted an estimated 15,000 tonnes of solid waste, including 10,000 tonnes of plastic, from landfills and oceans.<\/p>\n<p>Nestl\u00e9 Malaysia said the programme was introduced in Kulim in 2025 through a pilot project with SWCorp, E-Idaman and ESH Resource.<\/p>\n<p>Since its launch, the pilot has collected about 100,000kg of recyclables, including around 28,000kg of plastics, through weekly collection services.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration was marked by the exchange of a memorandum of understanding between Nestl\u00e9 Malaysia and SWCorp during the Karnival Kitar community event held at SMK Taman Selasih in Kulim.<\/p>\n<p>Nestl\u00e9 Malaysia CEO Juan Aranols said the programme\u2019s progress reflected the importance of partnerships and structured recycling systems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encourage all Malaysians to separate waste at home and make recycling part of everybody\u2019s daily life because when small actions become habits, they can drive meaningful nationwide impact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Nestl\u00e9 Malaysia, our voluntary extended producer responsibility (EPR) approach reflects our commitment to supporting this shift towards a more circular and waste-free future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, SWCorp chief executive officer Khalid Mohammed said greater household participation and coordination among operational partners and local authorities were important to strengthening the country\u2019s recycling ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSWCorp remains committed to encouraging greater household involvement, which is essential to strengthening Malaysia\u2019s recycling ecosystem and driving long-term impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Karnival Kitar event included educational roadshows, interactive booths and community activities aimed at promoting recycling awareness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"KUALA LUMPUR: Nestl\u00e9 (M) Bhd is expanding its plastic waste recycling initiative, Project SAVE, in Kedah through a&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":68816,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":"","_share_on_mastodon":"0"},"categories":[126],"tags":[15074,37072,199,32044,37070,20922,37071],"class_list":["post-68815","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nestle","tag-circular-economy","tag-household-waste-separation","tag-nestle","tag-plastic-waste","tag-project-save","tag-recycling","tag-swcorp"],"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@ch\/116606077653604575","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/68815","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=68815"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/68815\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/68816"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=68815"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=68815"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=68815"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
