With her election, SCNAT is strengthening the links between science, society and politics. Nina Buchmann brings with her many years of experience at the interface of environmental research, sustainable food systems and scientific advisory services. At ETH Zurich, she has had a significant influence on research and teaching in the field of environmental systems science.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to use my interdisciplinary expertise to contribute to SCNAT\u2019s scientific discourse with society and politics, in order to support evidence-based decision-making,\u201d says Buchmann. She is also particularly keen to play an active role in shaping the framework conditions for science and research culture in Switzerland, for example in the field of open science.<\/p>\n
In addition to her research work, Buchmann has held numerous leadership roles. She co-founded the World Food System Center at ETH Zurich and was a founding member of the Young Academy in Germany.
