Enicepatide competes with Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy and Eli Lilly’s Zepbound in a rapidly advancing obesity drug market, which analysts predict could generate over $100 billion annually in the coming decade. The weight loss achieved with Enicepatide was recorded after just 48 weeks, outperforming Wegovy’s 68-week results and closely rivaling Zepbound’s achievements.<\/p>\n
The drug mimics hormones GLP-1 and GIP to facilitate weight loss. Roche’s head of cardiovascular, renal, and metabolism product development, Manu Chakravarthy, noted the continued potential for weight loss past the study period.
