Swiss lawmakers are considering a new pitch to soften capital requirements for UBS. The new proposals could shave billions of dollars off the burden UBS is facing under a draft law submitted by the government.<\/p>\n
Four people familiar with the discussions told Reuters that UBS would need to back its foreign subsidiaries with between 70 per cent and 80 per cent of CET1 capital, instead of the government\u2019s current requirement of 100 per cent.<\/p>\n
