The department\u2019s Crash Reconstruction Unit obtained his cell phone and vehicle used in the crash to identify Gray.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">White was attempting to cross New Bern Avenue at 9 p.m. outside of a crosswalk on May 15 when a vehicle struck her. White died as a result of her injuries, but the driver did not stay on scene. White is survived by her three sons, mother and sister, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tributearchive.com\/obituaries\/48468114\/nicole-shawnette-white\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:according to her obituary;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;according to her obituary&quot;}\" class=\"link \">according to her obituary<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Wayne County Probation Office arrested Gray, and he is awaiting extradition to Raleigh, Raleigh police said. Records from the Department of Adult Corrections indicate Gray was serving a two-year probationary period for two felony offenses of possessing cannabis and one count of carrying a concealed weapon \u2014 all committed between 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThis partnership demonstrates the Raleigh Police Department\u2019s commitment to working alongside other law enforcement agencies to hold individuals accountable for violent crimes in our city,\u201d Raleigh police wrote in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Court records show Gray has pleaded guilty to or responsible for 13 traffic violations since 2018, including a 2022 guilty plea for misdemeanor driving after consuming alcohol under the age of 21 in 2020.
