Following a successful run in recent years, the country is keen to maintain its competitive edge on the international stage. The submission period for potential entries is set to open in August, providing a clear timeline for artists and composers to prepare their musical proposals.<\/p>\n<p>The song submission window for the 2027 Swiss national selection will run from 30 August- 11 September. SSR-SRG have published the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.srf.ch\/sendungen\/eurovision-song-contest\/eurovision-song-contest-2027-schweizer-esc-saison-startet-song-einreichung-im-august\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">rules and regulations<\/a> of the competiton.<\/p>\n<p>Yves Schifferle (Swiss Head of Delegation) says:<\/p>\n<p>Our goal remains unchanged. We want to find songs and artists that are internationally compelling and, at the same time, authentically represent Switzerland. To achieve this, we are continuously developing our processes \u2013 based on our experience, with new ideas and modern tools.<\/p>\n<p>Songwriting camps to foster talent<\/p>\n<p>As part of its comprehensive selection strategy, SRF will host two dedicated songwriting camps. These camps are designed to bring together talented musicians, producers, and lyricists to collaborate and develop high-quality songs specifically tailored for the Eurovision stage. This initiative underscores Switzerland\u2019s commitment to nurturing creative talent and ensuring a strong pool of potential entries for the national selection process.<\/p>\n<p>Lasse Nyman appointed as new Musical Director<\/p>\n<p>Further strengthening the Swiss team for Eurovision 2027, SRF has announced the appointment of Lasse Nyman as the new Musical Director. Nyman brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and his involvement is expected to play a crucial part in shaping the sound and artistic direction of Switzerland\u2019s entry. His leadership will be instrumental in guiding the musical aspects of the selection process, from evaluating submissions to refining the chosen song for the grand stage.<\/p>\n<p>The songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist was part of the international songwriting and producing team behind \u201cThe Code\u201d by Nemo, which won the Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland in Malm\u00f6 in 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph\">The 32-year-old Norwegian has an excellent international network: He has already participated in Eurovision or national final entries for Switzerland, Norway, Germany, Cyprus, Moldova and Great Britain and has contributed to over 130 international publications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph\">At the same time, Lasse Nymann knows the Swiss music scene very well. In recent years, he has regularly traveled to Switzerland for songwriting projects, including several songwriting camps such as the SUISA Songwriting Camp and the Montreux Songwriting Camp. He has collaborated with numerous Swiss creatives during this time.<\/p>\n<p>Lasse Nymann says:<\/p>\n<p>Switzerland has developed into one of the most exciting and successful Eurovision nations. I look forward to discovering new talents, songs, and creative partnerships together with SRG \u2013 both in Switzerland and beyond<\/p>\n<p>Yves Schifferle (SRF\/ Head of Swiss Delegation) says:<\/p>\n<p>Lasse Nymann combines Eurovision experience, modern pop expertise, and a strong international network with a genuine understanding of the Swiss music scene. It is precisely with this combination that we intend to further strengthen Switzerland\u2019s Eurovision strategy in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The detailed selection process, which will follow the submission phase and songwriting camps, is expected to be unveiled by SRF in the coming months.
