Quick Updates for All Four Corridors:<\/p>\n

New Bern Avenue: Phase one of construction has begun. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

Southern: The 30 percent design phase was completed in fall of 2025, and the project team is racing towards 60 percent design. Station renderings and design maps are now available to the public. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

Western: Western BRT is nearing completion of final 30 percent designs. There will be public engagement opportunities once these designs are complete. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

Northern: Raleigh City Council Endorsed the Northern Corridor Major Investment Study (MIS) \u2014 which recommends routes serving Midtown and Triangle Town Center \u2014 on May 19th, 2026. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

About Bus Rapid Transit<\/p>\n

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is coming to our region! Planning and construction are underway for fast, reliable, frequent transportation service along key corridors in Wake County and we expect service to be fully available by 2035.<\/p>\n

In November of 2016, Wake County voters approved a plan for focused investment in public transit which puts the implementation of the Wake County Transit Plan<\/a> in motion. The plan calls for building approximately 20 miles of transit lanes along four BRT corridors within Wake County.<\/p>\n

The four corridors are: <\/p>\n
