{"id":84757,"date":"2026-06-15T18:39:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T18:39:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/84757\/"},"modified":"2026-06-15T18:39:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T18:39:12","slug":"pa-invests-nearly-14000-to-remediate-former-military-base-in-bern-township","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/84757\/","title":{"rendered":"PA invests nearly $14,000 to remediate former military base in Bern Township"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>State funds have been secured to help the Berks County Industrial Development Authority clean up environmental issues on land eyed for new development.<\/p>\n<p>Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger announced Monday that $13,687 was awarded through the Industrial Sites Reuse Program to remediate three lots at Berks Park 183 behind the Reading Regional Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The site was historically used as a military base in the 1940s, a former metal plating facility and an auto body shop before being used by the airport authority.
