Elizabeth Wilson. Picture: England Golf<\/p>\nNewark golfer Elizabeth Wilson has been named in the England squad for the European Girls\u2019 Team Championship.<\/p>\n
Wilson, a member of Norwood Park, is among six girls selected for the tournament which takes place at Zurich Golf & Country Club in Switzerland from July 7-11.<\/p>\n

England will be aiming to repeat their 2024 success in Sweden, when they won the Euros for just the second time ever.<\/p>\n
After missing out in the quarter-finals last time out on home soil at Slaley Hall, they are hoping to challenge again.<\/p>\n
Wilson is among six girls selected, joining Lauren Crump (Hill Valley, Shropshire), Mia Ingham (Sunningdale, Surrey), Daisy Lee (Lancaster, Lancashire), Ellie Lichtenhein (The Buckinghamshire, Bucks) and Annabel Peaford (Walton Heath, Surrey) in the squad.<\/p>\n
Coach John Watson said: \u201cI\u2019m excited about the team we have this year who have all been playing well going into the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe course in Zurich is challenging with lots of elevation changes, but I believe we can go all the way again like we did in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wilson boasts an impressive CV over the past three years, most recently finishing runner-up at the Spanish Women\u2019s Amateur Championship, losing out in the final by just one hole.<\/p>\n
She also came second in the Fairhaven Trophy, having won the event last year, and helped England win the International Cup team title at the Scottish Women\u2019s Amateur.<\/p>\n
The golfer enjoyed an excellent 2025, finishing tied-third in the individual stroke play stages of the European Girls\u2019 Team Championship and securing a top-five spot at the Scottish Women\u2019s Amateur as England won the Nations Cup.<\/p>\n
There were also top-10 finishes at the Scottish Girls\u2019 Under-18 Championship and Comboy Scratch at Delamere Forest, as well as helping England to success in the Girls\u2019 & Boys\u2019 Home Internationals.<\/p>\n
In 2024, she took fourth place at the English Girls\u2019 Open Championship, secured top-10 at the R&A Girls\u2019 Under-16 Amateur Championship and won the Bronte Law Junior Series event at Moor Allerton.<\/p>\n
