ABB has entered into an agreement to acquire marine automation firm H\u00f8glund, headquartered in T\u00f8nsberg, Norway.<\/p>\n
The acquisition is expected to complement ABB\u2019s existing automation capabilities for marine customers and support further growth across a wide range of vessel segments.<\/p>\n
The transaction is planned to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. H\u00f8glund, which is currently owned by Eitzen Group, will be integrated into ABB\u2019s Marine & Ports division. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.<\/p>\n
The deal will cover H\u00f8glund\u2019s global operations, including more than 80 employees across Norway, Poland, Romania, and China.<\/p>\n

H\u00f8glund offers an Integrated Automation System (IAS) based on ABB\u2019s 800M and S800 control system hardware platform, a modular and scalable system that handles automation, monitoring, and control tasks on board.<\/p>\n
Combining data from engines, power generators, and cargo systems, the platform is currently installed on more than 600 vessels. The company reported revenues of close to \u20ac30 million in 2025.<\/p>\n
