(WITN) &#8211; A New Bern man is now behind bars after deputies say he threatened a child into making pornographic videos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Robert Cothren Jr. was arrested on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The investigation started when Craven County deputies said they received a Cybertip that Cothren had sexually extorted a 13-year-old on Snapchat. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He was charged with felony aggravated sexual extortion, felony indecent liberties with a child, felony first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The 19-year-old remains in jail without bond.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WITN.
