MIAMI \u2014 The Miami Dolphins have started a major team rebuild<\/a> by releasing some of their biggest players as they prepare for the 2026 season. <\/p>\n

The Dolphins announced that they have cut<\/a> wide receiver Tyreek Hill. He was one of the NFL\u2019s top receivers and played four seasons with Miami, but Hill missed most of 2025 after a serious knee injury. The move saves the Dolphins significant salary cap space.<\/p>\n

On the same day, Miami also released pass rusher Bradley Chubb<\/a>. Chubb was one of the team\u2019s best defenders when healthy. However, injuries and high salary costs made the Dolphins decide to let him go. The team now faces a significant void on defense.<\/p>\n

The Dolphins are clearly rebuilding after a disappointing 2025 season. They finished with a 7-10 record and missed the playoffs, prompting the front office to rethink the roster. <\/p>\n

As part of the change, Miami has also cut other veteran players, including offensive lineman James Daniels and receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. The team is clearing space under the salary cap so it can sign new players and build for the future. <\/p>\n

There is also uncertainty about quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Miami\u2019s front office is still evaluating what to do about Tagovailoa\u2019s contract.
