Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says Russia will expand its delegation for the upcoming talks on\u00a0Ukraine in\u00a0Geneva.<\/p>\n
He\u00a0noted that Vladimir Putin is\u00a0in\u00a0constant contact with the negotiators and gives them direct instructions. According to\u00a0Peskov, the Geneva discussions are expected to\u00a0focus on\u00a0key issues, including the territorial agenda.<\/p>\n
Peskov stated that the delegation would be\u00a0broadened and that, in\u00a0addition to\u00a0Vladimir Medinsky, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and other officials would also travel to\u00a0Geneva. He\u00a0stressed that Medinsky remains the head of\u00a0the Russian delegation and explained that Medinsky did not take part in\u00a0the contacts in\u00a0Abu Dhabi because those discussions dealt with security matters that fall within the competence of\u00a0the military.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the special representative of\u00a0the Russian president for investment and economic cooperation with foreign states, Kirill Dmitriev, Peskov said Dmitriev is\u00a0working on\u00a0a\u00a0separate track within a\u00a0working group on\u00a0economic issues, and that this format continues to\u00a0function actively.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Peskov said that the talks on\u00a0Ukraine in\u00a0Geneva would continue on\u00a017\u201318 February and confirmed that the Russian delegation there would be\u00a0led by\u00a0Medinsky.
