Na \u010desk\u00e9 auk\u010dn\u00ed sc\u00e9n\u011b chyb\u011bly zejm\u00e9na vrcholn\u00e9 obrazy Franti\u0161ka Kupky \u010di Toyen,\u201c dod\u00e1v\u00e1 znalkyn\u011b.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Z \u0160\u00edmovy tvorby dr\u017e\u00ed prvenstv\u00ed olej Zem\u011b \u2013 nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00ed obraz, kter\u00fd um\u011blec v \u017eivot\u011b namaloval. V roce 2024 se v Praze vydra\u017eil za 60,5 milionu korun, co\u017e byl sv\u011btov\u00fd auk\u010dn\u00ed rekord tohoto autora.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Evropa je v\u0161ak podle Michalov\u00e9 mnohem v\u00fdznamn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed. Na rozd\u00edl od Zem\u011b, vytvo\u0159en\u00e9 v roce 1960, vznikla v roce 1927 a poch\u00e1z\u00ed tak z \u0160\u00edmova nejhodnotn\u011bj\u0161\u00edho surrealistick\u00e9ho obdob\u00ed. \u201eKrom\u011b toho je tu i jist\u00e9 politick\u00e9 hledisko. \u0160\u00edma reagoval na krizi, kterou tehdy Star\u00fd kontinent proch\u00e1zel. A v podobn\u00e9 situaci je Evropa i nyn\u00ed. T\u00edm obraz z\u00edsk\u00e1v\u00e1 na aktu\u00e1lnosti, a tedy i p\u0159ita\u017elivosti,\u201c upozor\u0148uje expertka.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zat\u00edm nejdra\u017e\u0161\u00edm meziv\u00e1le\u010dn\u00fdm pl\u00e1tnem \u0160\u00edmy je ML neboli Vejce \u010di Rovnov\u00e1ha, kter\u00e9 se v roce 2018 prodalo za v\u00edce ne\u017e 36 milion\u016f korun. Evropa tuto la\u0165ku podle Michalov\u00e9 p\u0159ekon\u00e1 i proto, \u017ee hodnota z\u00e1sadn\u00edch mal\u00ed\u0159sk\u00fdch prac\u00ed \u010desk\u00e9 avantgardy od t\u00e9 doby zna\u010dn\u011b vzrostla.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Evropa mus\u00ed do Prahy\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kdy\u017e obraz loni na ja\u0159e kr\u00e1tce nab\u00edzela filadelfsk\u00e1 auk\u010dn\u00ed s\u00ed\u0148 Freeman\u2019s zam\u011b\u0159en\u00e1 na impresionismus a modernu, vyvolala zna\u010dn\u00fd rozruch, a hlavn\u011b \u0159adu ot\u00e1zek. D\u016fvodem byla skute\u010dnost, \u017ee zcela toto\u017en\u00e9, mnohokr\u00e1t vystaven\u00e9 a publikovan\u00e9 d\u00edlo m\u00e1 u\u017e od roku 1994 ve sb\u00edrce Moravsk\u00e1 galerie v Brn\u011b. Zmate\u010dn\u00fd byl nav\u00edc text v elektronick\u00e9m katalogu odkazuj\u00edc\u00ed na brn\u011bnsk\u00e9ho dvojn\u00edka. Jako posledn\u00ed majitel pl\u00e1tna byl uveden d\u011bdic z vlivn\u00e9 americk\u00e9 rodiny Ingersollov\u00fdch.<\/p>\n<p>Kv\u016fli nejasnostem byl obraz sta\u017een z trhu a auk\u010dn\u00ed s\u00ed\u0148 se obr\u00e1tila na \u010desk\u00e9 odborn\u00edky specializuj\u00edc\u00ed se na posuzov\u00e1n\u00ed pravosti. Nejprve jim navrhla prozkoumat obraz p\u0159i jednor\u00e1zov\u00e9 n\u00e1v\u0161t\u011bv\u011b. Za tak kr\u00e1tkou dobu by v\u0161ak nebylo mo\u017en\u00e9 u\u010dinit jasn\u00fd z\u00e1v\u011br. Nakonec se majitel\u00e9 zastoupen\u00ed Freeman\u2019s nechali p\u0159esv\u011bd\u010dit a d\u00edlo poslali do Prahy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mimo\u0159\u00e1dn\u00fd z\u00e1\u017eitek\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prvn\u00ed setk\u00e1n\u00ed s obrazem bylo pro Michalovou a Franka \u00fadajn\u011b fascinuj\u00edc\u00ed. Ohromil je t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 neporu\u0161en\u00fdm stavem, v\u00fdjime\u010dnou kvalitou malby a pom\u011brn\u011b velk\u00fdm form\u00e1tem. Z\u00e1hy se uk\u00e1zalo, \u017ee p\u0159i lo\u0148sk\u00e9 prezentaci skute\u010dn\u011b do\u0161lo k z\u00e1m\u011bn\u011b s proslulou brn\u011bnskou verz\u00ed \u0160\u00edmova v\u00fdjime\u010dn\u00e9ho kusu z roku 1927. Nicm\u00e9n\u011b p\u016fvod \u201enov\u00e9\u201c Evropy z kolekce Roberta S. Obraz na mne p\u016fsobil velmi dob\u0159e, na druhou stranu ne\u0161lo vylou\u010dit ani n\u011bjak\u00e9 neautorsk\u00e9 d\u00edlo z \u0160\u00edmova okruhu maluj\u00edc\u00edch b\u00e1sn\u00edk\u016f nebo volnou kopii podle barevn\u00e9 reprodukce. Pr\u00e1v\u011b tahle ot\u00e1zka mi le\u017eela v hlav\u011b nejv\u00edce,\u201c popisuje Michalov\u00e1, pro\u010d se soust\u0159edila na proch\u00e1zen\u00ed dobov\u00e9 literatury a periodik. V novodob\u00fdch pramenech se toti\u017e \u017e\u00e1dn\u00e1 zm\u00ednka o druh\u00e9 variant\u011b nenach\u00e1zela. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Konfrontace obraz\u016f<\/p>\n<p>Z\u00e1rove\u0148 bylo nutn\u00e9 p\u0159ikro\u010dit k fyzick\u00e9 konfrontaci a porovnat oba stejnojmenn\u00e9 obrazy. Michalov\u00e1 s Frankem zaznamenali \u0159adu odchylek, ale tak\u00e9 shod, co\u017e mohlo znamenat, \u017ee Evropa objeven\u00e1 ve Spojen\u00fdch st\u00e1tech by mohla b\u00fdt dosud nezn\u00e1mou variantou \u0160\u00edmova sv\u011btozn\u00e1m\u00e9ho pl\u00e1tna. Oba experti si p\u0159itom uv\u011bdomovali, \u017ee pokud by se jejich hypot\u00e9za potvrdila, \u0161lo by o p\u0159elomov\u00e9 zji\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Filadelfsk\u00e1 malba byla oproti expon\u00e1tu z Moravsk\u00e9 galerie o dvacet centimetr\u016f del\u0161\u00ed a o osm centimetr\u016f \u0161ir\u0161\u00ed. Li\u0161ilo se pojet\u00ed torz, vlas\u016f nebo st\u00ednov\u00e1n\u00ed v\u00fdrazn\u00e9ho motivu, j\u00edm\u017e je vejce. Naopak zcela toto\u017en\u011b p\u016fsobila barevnost, zejm\u00e9na mod\u0159 na l\u00e1tce \u010di inkarn\u00e1t na \u017eensk\u00fdch t\u011blech. Souhlasily rovn\u011b\u017e pou\u017eit\u00e9 materi\u00e1ly, od podkladov\u00e9ho \u0161epsu a\u017e po h\u0159eb\u00ed\u010dky na blindr\u00e1mu. A srovn\u00e1n\u00ed s des\u00edtkou dal\u0161\u00edch \u0160\u00edmov\u00fdch d\u011bl jen potvrdilo, \u017ee jde o autentickou pr\u00e1ci nejvy\u0161\u0161\u00edch kvalit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kl\u00ed\u010dem k rozlu\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed h\u00e1danky a fin\u00e1ln\u00ed identifikaci obrazu se podle Michalov\u00e9 zd\u00e1l b\u00fdt doposud jedin\u00fd zn\u00e1m\u00fd, tedy brn\u011bnsk\u00fd obraz.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Americk\u00e1 varianta obrazu Evropa Josefa \u0160\u00edmy se od brn\u011bnsk\u00e9 verze li\u0161\u00ed o n\u011bco v\u011bt\u0161\u00edmi rozm\u011bry a n\u011bkter\u00fdmi detaily. | Zdroj: archv R. V\u0161ude jsem nar\u00e1\u017eela na zm\u00ednky v\u00fdhradn\u011b o brn\u011bnsk\u00e9 verzi, p\u0159esto\u017ee jsem dal\u0161\u00ed variantu m\u011bla p\u0159ed sebou. Dlouho se mi neda\u0159ilo nic naj\u00edt,\u201c l\u00ed\u010d\u00ed nap\u011bt\u00ed p\u0159ed rozuzlen\u00edm h\u00e1danky histori\u010dka um\u011bn\u00ed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pr\u016fkaznou informaci o existenci v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed \u201eamerick\u00e9\u201c Evropy nakonec Michalov\u00e1 objevila v ti\u0161t\u011bn\u00e9m katalogu k mal\u00ed\u0159ov\u011b jubilejn\u00ed v\u00fdstav\u011b z roku 1936 v Obecn\u00ed d\u016fm. Pod \u010d\u00edslem osm byl v obrazov\u00e9 sekci uveden onen brn\u011bnsk\u00fd olej s dov\u011btkem, \u017ee \u201ejin\u00e9 pl\u00e1tno v\u011bt\u0161\u00edch rozm\u011br\u016f z t\u00e9ho\u017e roku se nach\u00e1z\u00ed ve sb\u00edrce Davisov\u011b ve Philadelphii\u201c.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A na tomto zji\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed se u\u017e kone\u010dn\u011b dalo stav\u011bt. Michalov\u00e1 dohledala dobov\u00e9 vyd\u00e1n\u00ed \u010dasopisu \u017divot, kter\u00e9 reprodukovalo obrazy z v\u00fdstavy v Obecn\u00edm dom\u011b, a zjistila, \u017ee k fotografii brn\u011bnsk\u00e9 verze je p\u0159i\u0159azena nespr\u00e1vn\u00e1 popiska o Davisov\u011b sb\u00edrce.\u00a0\u201eJe\u0161t\u011b p\u0159esv\u011bd\u010div\u011bj\u0161\u00ed pohled na \u0160\u00edmovy Evropy se mi poda\u0159ilo naj\u00edt v jednom \u010d\u00edsle asi tehdy nejpresti\u017en\u011bj\u0161\u00edho periodika o sou\u010dasn\u00e9m um\u011bn\u00ed, francouzsk\u00e9 revue Cahiers d\u2019Art.\u201c\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ta proslula monografick\u00fdmi studiemi s bohat\u00fdm obrazov\u00fdm doprovodem. \u201eJeden \u010dl\u00e1nek z roku 1928 se obs\u00e1hle v\u011bnoval Josefu \u0160\u00edmovi, p\u0159esn\u011bji Simovi, jak ho bez diakritiky titulovali Francouzi. A tam byla oti\u0161t\u011bna ta n\u00e1mi hledan\u00e1 \u201aamerick\u00e1\u2018 Evropa. Poznala jsem ji hned podle prodlou\u017een\u00fdch h\u00fd\u017ed\u00ed lev\u00e9ho torza a vyst\u00ednovan\u00e9ho vejce,\u201c popisuje z\u00e1v\u011br p\u00e1tr\u00e1n\u00ed Michalov\u00e1.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zapr\u00e1\u0161en\u00fd podpis<\/p>\n<p>Krom\u011b re\u0161er\u0161e dobov\u00fdch pramen\u016f a \u0159ady um\u011bleckohistorick\u00fdch komparac\u00ed s \u010dasov\u011b bl\u00edzk\u00fdmi d\u00edly potvrdily pravost t\u00e9to verze \u0160\u00edmovy Evropy tak\u00e9 v\u0161echna restaur\u00e1torsk\u00e1 zkoum\u00e1n\u00ed a chemicko-technologick\u00e9 anal\u00fdzy. Znalci tak mohli jednozna\u010dn\u011b konstatovat, \u017ee obraz je nesporn\u00fd origin\u00e1l.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Davidu Frankovi se nakonec poda\u0159ilo vy\u0159e\u0161it i probl\u00e9m zd\u00e1nliv\u011b chyb\u011bj\u00edc\u00ed signace. Kdy\u017e zam\u011b\u0159il infrakameru na prav\u00fd modro\u010dern\u00fd doln\u00ed roh pl\u00e1tna, z\u0159eteln\u011b vysvitl d\u0159\u00edve pouh\u00fdm okem neviditeln\u00fd, prachem zanesen\u00fd podpis \u0160\u00edma s typick\u00fdm spojen\u00edm h\u00e1\u010dku a \u010d\u00e1rky.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ot\u00e1zkou tak z\u016fst\u00e1v\u00e1 jen to, kterou z obou Evrop vytvo\u0159il um\u011blec \u2013 spolu s Franti\u0161kem Kupkou a Toyen nejoce\u0148ovan\u011bj\u0161\u00ed \u010desk\u00fd mal\u00ed\u0159 \u2013 jako prvn\u00ed. A\u010dkoliv k tomu Michalov\u00e1 a Frank objevili jist\u00e9 indicie, nepova\u017euj\u00ed to za rozhoduj\u00edc\u00ed. Oba obrazy maj\u00ed v \u0160\u00edmov\u011b tvorb\u011b sv\u00e9bytnou hodnotu a tak\u00e9 naprosto odli\u0161nou historii.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201ePokud byla v 90. letech akvizice Evropy do brn\u011bnsk\u00e9 Moravsk\u00e9 galerie titulov\u00e1na jako n\u00e1kup stolet\u00ed, potvrzen\u00ed autenticity filadelfsk\u00e9ho d\u00edla bych se pak neb\u00e1la ozna\u010dit za objev stolet\u00ed.
