In their respective positions they are also among the best in South America. Now, however, the duo are thinking of leaving the Sao Paulo club and embark on Europe.
As per reports from Brazilian outlet Ge Globo, Souza and Alberto already agreed upon a transfer to Europe with Corinthians.
“It was my own request; I wanted to set my sights on new goals from the middle of this year onwards,” the 25-year-old striker explained. Meanwhile, in February, Souza’s agents said the following about a transfer of their star: “[…] Any possibility of a transfer will only be discussed after the World Cup.”
On the one hand, Souza is looking to participate as he’s part of a the preliminary squad of Carlo Ancelotti. Awarded his debut in October 2025, he only has slim chances of ending up in the 26-man-squad, despite being called up several times by the Italian coach for the Brazilian national team, especially for his penalty saving skills.
On the other hand, Alberto has proven to be clinical striker with 82 goals in the Corinthians jersey. The Timao is in financial troubles for which selling their best striker could prove to be an important step.
