Over 925,000 charging points in the network
The UTA network now comprises more than 925,000 charging points across 28 countries. Around 300 of these are truck-capable fast-charging stations, including locations in the European Milence network.
UTA eCharge is aimed at all vehicle classes—from passenger cars and vans to heavy commercial vehicles.
360° charging solution for companies
With UTA eCharge, UTA Edenred offers a comprehensive offering that goes beyond public charging alone. It also covers workplace and depot charging on company premises as well as home charging for company car drivers.
The portfolio includes consulting, planning, installation, and operation of charging infrastructure, complemented by charging management, billing, training, and technical service. Currently, the full 360° solution is available only in Germany. A phased international roll-out is in preparation.
Automatic odometer capture
A new feature is the automatic capture of the odometer reading at every public charging session. The data appear on the invoice, eliminating the need for manual entry. The only requirement is a one-time linking of the vehicle with the UTA eCharge app. Billing is handled via the app or the UTA eCard.
The function is initially available for passenger cars from Volkswagen, BMW, and Cupra. Additional manufacturers such as Skoda, Tesla, and Audi are expected to follow soon.
Reconciling mileage and electricity consumption can help detect irregularities or misuse. It also provides indications for assessing battery lifespan and residual values.
„With UTA eCharge, we support our customers in transforming their fleets to electric—and thus to sustainable mobility—regardless of the number of vehicles and vehicle classes,“ says Pierre Jalady, General Manager Edenred Mobility EMEA and CEO of UTA Edenred. „With the continuation of our European roll-out, we can now support even more customers in making the move to electromobility.“
What does this mean?
With the expansion of its offering, UTA Edenred is strengthening its position as a provider of e-mobility solutions for fleets. Particularly interesting is the combination of public charging and additional services such as odometer reading capture.
However, the comprehensive 360° charging solution remains limited to Germany for the time being. For international fleet operators, that means: wait until the roll-out reaches their locations as well. (av)
