This roundtable is organised by Erika von Kalben (DE/The Greens) at Handwerkskammer Flensburg, Johanniskirchhof 1, 24937 Flensburg.

In an era marked by growing uncertainty, this event asks: Is Europe crisis-proof? How is Schleswig-Holstein readying itself for future crises, and what roles do the European Union and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) play? Do EU mechanisms strengthen resilience—or do they feel overly bureaucratic?

Through concise introductions and short statements, followed by an open roundtable discussion featuring the Minister of the Interior, the event aims to inform citizens on EU-led crisis preparedness and resilience strategies. It will highlight the importance of the EU and promote solidarity among member states. The desired outcome: deeper information, better understanding, and meaningful dialogue.

The event will feature Dr. Sabine Sütterlin-Waack, Schleswig-Holstein’s Minister of the Interior, Municipal Affairs, Housing and Sports, as the main guest speaker.
