With the promotion of Abdu Mudesir to the Deutsche Telekom Board of Management, Alexander Jenbar will take over the position of Head of Technology for Germany. This was announced by Deutsche Telekom in Bonn on Thursday evening. Jenbar comes from T-Mobile Polska, where he previously sat on the Board of Management as Chief Technology and Innovation Officer (CTIO).
Jenbar brings with him decades of experience in the industry. The 52-year-old Austrian has been a member of the Management Board at T-Mobile Polska since September 2022. His previous positions include Telekom Romania, TDC Net in Denmark and A1 Telekom Austria. Before that, he worked in Thailand and Germany, among other places.
„I am looking forward to taking the next innovative steps together with the strong team at Telekom Deutschland,“ explains Jenbar. „Our mission is clear: we want to continue to consistently expand fibre optic and mobile networks and make Telekom number one in the digital market.“

Mudesir moves up to the Management Board
On 1 October, Mudesir took over the Management Board position for Technology and Innovation from Claudia Nemat, who is leaving the company at her request. In Nemat’s newly created department in 2016, he was responsible for the Telekom Group’s technology as CTO; when Walter Goldenits left in 2022, Mudesir also took on the role of Head of Technology at Telekom Deutschland.
Mudesir studied computer science and electrical engineering in Bremen. He completed his doctorate in 2010 with a thesis on wireless communication technology. He has been with Deutsche Telekom since 2018. Before joining Deutsche Telekom, he worked for the management consultancy Altran and the equipment supplier Huawei.
„I would like to thank Abdu Mudesir for his valuable work with the technology team and all the successes that provide our customers with an outstanding network experience,“ says Deutsche Telekom Germany CEO Rodrigo Diehl. „Abdu has played a key role in driving forward the digitalisation of Germany and the use of AI in our network. With Alexander Jenbar, we have been able to gain a very accomplished technology expert as his successor.“
Nemat takes her leave
Nemat announced her early departure from Telekom in May. She has been a member of the Telekom Executive Board for 14 years. During her time at Deutsche Telekom, the graduate physicist was involved in fundamental technological advances such as artificial intelligence.
Nemat was considered to be a candidate to succeed CEO Tim Höttges, alongside former Head of Germany Srini Gopalan. After the Supervisory Board extended Höttges‘ contract once again at the beginning of the year, she decided to head for new shores. Gopalan had moved to the USA and will become the next CEO of the US subsidiary T-Mobile.
