The name is the program: Super-One stands for “One and Only” – Honda’s way of saying: “We don’t simply go along, we do things differently.” And indeed beyond the usual electric-car conventions. The Super-One is an electric kei car, though not as extravagant as the Honda e. The lightweight rides on the proven N-Series platform – that means nimble handling, quick responsiveness and a driving feel.

Its wide blister fenders give it a bullish stance and allow slightly wider tires for more grip. The aerodynamic fine-tuning also improves cooling and thus efficiency.

Boost Mode simulates an internal combustion engine

And to truly offer driving pleasure, Honda developed a Boost Mode with virtual gear-shifting and an active soundscape that simulates the feeling of a sporty internal-combustion engine – including vibrations! This could make electric mobility suddenly sound like driving pleasure rather than a whisper mode.

The real-world tests also took place in the UK – the Super-One is expected to come to Europe as well.

The Super-One has been tested worldwide—from the narrow streets of Tokyo, through Asia’s tropics, to Britain’s winding country roads. It even made a small, hitherto little-noticed appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 in West Sussex: there it demonstrated with a bold run through the legendary hill climb course that electric cars can be not only quiet, but also loud and exhilarating.
