FC Augsburg have completed the permanent signing of Thomas Kastanaras from VfB Stuttgart. The club said in a statement that the 23-year-old has agreed a deal until 2027 with an option for a further year.

The German-Greek striker moves after four senior appearances for Stuttgart.

Augsburg were keen to bring him in and see untapped potential. They plan to ease his development with U23 minutes and believe he can take the next step.

Kastanaras scored seven goals and added three assists for Stuttgart’s reserves in the 3. Liga last season. He has not featured this term because of a knee injury.

He called the move a new chapter and expressed his excitement. Kastanaras aims to regain full fitness, find his rhythm and progress step by step.
