Julie Mehretu is one of the most influential and highly valued artists of our time – and she’s a music fan. The artist has dedicated works to famous jazz musicians such as John and Alice Coltrane, Don Cherry, and Sun Ra. Last year, she designed a poster for the Donaueschingen Festival. She has collaborated with pianist Jason Moran and created the artwork for the remarkable „Promises“ project by Pharoah Sanders, Floating Points, and the London Symphony Orchestra.
