“We Bury the Dead,” the upcoming post-apocalyptic zombie thriller starring Daisy Ridley, has found a home in the U.K. and Ireland.
The film — written and directed by Zak Hilditch (“1922”) — has been acquired by Signature Entertainment from Neon International. Earlier this year, Vertical bought North American rights.
The survival thriller follows Ava, a desperate woman whose husband is missing in the aftermath of a catastrophic military experiment. Hoping to find him alive, Ava joins a “body retrieval unit,” but her search takes a chilling turn when the corpses she’s burying start showing signs of life. Alongside Ridley, the film star Brenton Thwaites (“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”), Mark Coles Smith (“Last Cab to Darwin”) and Matt Whelan (“Narcos”).
