The upcoming U.K.-set rom-com being led by “Mare of Easttown” star Angourie Rice and “Alien: Romulus” breakout Spike Fearn has a new name.
The film — the directorial debut of Brit filmmaker Alicia MacDonald — has been given the new title of “Finding Emily” after first being announced as “Cc: Emily.” The Focus Features, Universal Pictures International and Working Title feature has also been given a U.K. release date of May 22, 2026.
Written by Rachel Hirons, “Finding Emily” follows a lovesick musician who’s given the wrong number for his dream girl as he teams up with a driven psychology student to find her. According to the logline, “together, they spark a hilarious campus-wide frenzy that tests their own hearts and ambitions along the way.”
MacDonald has directed episodes of Lena Dunham’s “To Much” and Stephen Merchant’s “The Outlaws.”
