The \u201cIT from Europe\u201d (ITE) seal of approval is intended to help companies and authorities make conscious purchasing decisions in favor of digital sovereignty. The ITE association names four areas of requirements in which certified products should differ from others:<\/p>\n
The seal of approval is to be awarded in four levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum, depending on the extent to which the respective product meets the criteria.<\/p>\n
More members wanted<\/p>\n
The initiative only has two members so far: the German PC and server manufacturers Extra Computer and Thomas-Krenn have founded the \u201cAssociation for the Promotion of IT from Europe<\/a> (ITE)\u201d. They are inviting other companies to join and expect more members soon.<\/p>\n Thomas-Krenn has been developing an example of such a device for around a year together with the German company Congatec: the \u201cEuro-Server<\/a>\u201d. The interchangeable computing module for general server tasks in it comes from Congatec and is equipped with an Intel Xeon D1800 or Xeon D2800.<\/p>\n Extra Computer and Thomas-Krenn are closely linked because Thomas-Krenn acquired Extra Computer in 2022. Thomas-Krenn also holds stakes in the companies CoreCooling GmbH and Yorizon.
