In comparison: The Model Y hit the roads 6,305 times in the same period. The luxury duo has not only lost touch but now also its place in the German Tesla configurator – it’s over and out for Model S and X in new car form.

Anyone still trying to configure one of the luxury models on the German Tesla site today will be disappointed: No configurator, no new order button – only a few demo vehicles (Model X) and certified used ones are available. Placing a new order? Not an option.

In the USA, another small facelift is supposed to keep the long-running models fresh

In June 2025, Tesla had introduced a facelift for the S and X. However, this is more “cosmetic” that only brand enthusiasts could immediately recognize: There are two new paint colors („Frost Blue Metallic“ and „Diamond Black“), a black Tesla logo, a few new wheel designs, and an optimized diffuser for better aerodynamics in the Model S Plaid. Inside, it gets quieter thanks to active noise cancellation, plus there’s again a standard round steering wheel (the yoke remains optional), animated ambient lighting, and a friendly welcome display when getting in.

Technically, apart from the suspension bearings, practically nothing changed

Technically, everything remains unchanged: Batteries and drives still come from the 2021 model. Range and performance also change little. The new front camera and revised suspension bearings are nice details, but not revolutionary. In the Model X, at least the third row of seats is a bit airier, and adaptive high beams are now standard.

Price-wise? Ambitiously American.

The Model S Long Range now starts at $84,990 in the USA, the Plaid at $99,990 – each with the new extras. The Model X is also correspondingly more expensive. It starts at $89,990.

Only 58 Model S and 59 Model X – that’s all there is: That’s how many new registrations…

[3933
331,332,25497,548,663,158,3934,3935,88878,13,88877,14,15,12
0":"post-308228","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-eu","8":"tag-aktuelle-nachrichten","9":"tag-aktuelle-news","10":"tag-electromobility-e-mobility","11":"tag-eu","12":"tag-europa","13":"tag-europaeische-union","14":"tag-europe","15":"tag-european-union","16":"tag-fleet-and-fleet-management","17":"tag-headlines","18":"tag-luxury-class-and-sports-cars","19":"tag-nachrichten","20":"tag-news","21":"tag-schlagzeilen
["GET
