Ob das n\u00e4chtliche Paris, das krasse Los Angeles oder eben die C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur: Er inszenierte seine Mischung aus Glamour und Tristesse, ignorantem Reichtum und Verfall, Voyeurismus und Machtgesten, die er selbst als Jugendlicher in seiner Geburtsstadt beobachtet hatte.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Matthias Harder, der Direktor der Helmut Newton Stiftung und Kurator der dortigen Schau zu Newtons Riviera-Bildern, spricht bei der Pressetour von \u201edieser gewissen Spannung\u201c in den Motiven: \u201eAlles ist irgendwie miteinander verbunden in Helmuts Werk. Das Ganze entspricht einer Art Rollenspiel, als ob jede Situation auf einer B\u00fchne oder einem Filmset stattf\u00e4nde.
