An dieser Stelle entwarf der Architekt Wilhelm Kreis 1926 zun\u00e4chst ein Planetarium. In den 70-Jahren wurde daraus ein Konzertsaal. 2005 fand erneut eine Renovierung statt. Dabei wurde die Akustik verbessert.<\/p>\n<p class=\"richtext mb-4 last:mb-0\">Im gro\u00dfen Saal des Konzerthauses gibt es 1.854 Sitzpl\u00e4tze. Nach eigenen Angaben z\u00e4hlt die Tonhalle pro Jahr mehr als 300.000 Besucher. Mehr als 450 Konzerte stehen j\u00e4hrlich im Programm. Es deckt vielf\u00e4ltige Musikrichtungen ab: von Jazz \u00fcber Klassik bis hin zu Pop und Soul. Zu dem Kulturangebot geh\u00f6rt auch Kabarett.<\/p>\n<p class=\"richtext mb-4 last:mb-0\">Intendant der Tonhalle ist Michael Becker. F\u00fcr die D\u00fcsseldorfer Symphoniker, ein 130-k\u00f6pfiges Orchester, ist das Konzerthaus das musikalische Zuhause.<\/p>\n<p class=\"richtext mb-4 last:mb-0\">Die technischen Einrichtungen und das Geb\u00e4ude sind inzwischen sanierungsbed\u00fcrftig.
