{"id":695672,"date":"2026-01-05T18:49:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T18:49:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/de\/695672\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T18:49:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T18:49:13","slug":"prince-harry-to-regain-security-in-u-k-enabling-kids-to-visit-king-charles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/de\/695672\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince Harry to Regain Security in U.K., Enabling Kids to Visit King Charles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> NEED TO KNOW<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A major review into security for Prince Harry is likely to grant him the armed security he&#8217;s been campaigning for, according to a new report<\/li>\n<li>The Duke of Sussex lost an appeal over the issue in the U.K.&#8217;s High Court in May 2025 \u2014 but a review has been underway since<\/li>\n<li>Harry, 41, has said that he can&#8217;t bring his family to the country of his birth because of the lack of security for them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_2-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tag\/prince-harry\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Harry<\/a>&#8217;s fight to have his official, armed full-time security reinstated when he visits the U.K. appears to have taken a step forward.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_4-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Insiders tell PEOPLE there are \u201cpositive\u201d noises coming from the government regarding a reversal of <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/prince-harry-loses-court-appeal-restored-uk-security-11719960#:~:text=Prince%20Harry%20lost%20his%20high,the%20United%20States%20in%202020.\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the decision<\/a> not to grant Harry security, and they are cautiously hopeful that the decision to upgrade his cover will go ahead.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> It follows a report that an official review has found that Harry, 41, meets the criteria for inclusion in the taxpayer-funded security cover.\n<\/p>\n<p>Neil Mockford\/GC Images<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_9-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> After several years of the Duke of Sussex&#8217;s campaigning \u2014 including a high-profile court battle which he lost \u2014 a full-scale review <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/prince-harry-major-security-win-archie-lilibet-11863908\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was granted in December<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_11-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> That meant an official risk assessment was carried out by the body that draws up the roster for who gets security \u2013 the royal and VIP executive committee (Ravec.) Ravec is made up of members of the government\u2019s Home Office, the Metropolitan Police and the royal household.\n<\/p>\n<p> Prince Harry waves as he departs an engagement in London in Sept. 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Suzanne Plunkett &#8211; Pool\/Getty\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_14-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> On Jan. 4, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/royals\/article-15431987\/Prince-Harry-stalker-scare-means-hes-nailed-given-armed-police-guards-UK-visits-insiders-claim.html\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Mail on Sunday <\/a>reported that the committee had found that the criteria for the top-level security measures had been met. A source close to Harry was quoted as saying, \u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s now a formality. Sources at the Home Office have indicated that security is nailed on for Harry.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_18-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> There is now a belief that, barring a last-minute intervention from opponents, the duke will be granted the armed guards and institutional backup he used to get when he was a working royal.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_20-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Harry has repeatedly said that without such security cover, he is unable to bring his wife,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tag\/meghan-markle\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meghan Markle<\/a>, 44, and their two children,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/prince-archie-5670074\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Archie<\/a>, 6, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/princess-lilibet-5669553\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Princess Lilibet<\/a>, 4, to the country of his birth \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/royals\/prince-harry-does-not-feel-safe-bringing-archie-lilibet-uk-court\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">insisting he doesn&#8217;t feel safe\u00a0<\/a>doing so.\n<\/p>\n<p> Prince Harry and Meghan Markle carrying their two children Princess Lilibet, left, and Prince Archie, right, at their former Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage.<br \/>\nNetflix\/Youtube<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_23-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> This reversal could pave the way for Harry to bring his children, who are being raised in California, to the U.K. to be reunited with his father,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tag\/prince-charles\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King Charles<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_25-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> It emerged on Oct. 6 that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/prince-harry-close-encounters-known-stalker-uk-visit-11825052\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a female stalker<\/a>\u00a0came within feet of Prince Harry on a couple of occasions when he was on a charity visit to the U.K. in September 2025.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_27-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Harry lost his full security cover when he and Meghan <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/prince-harry-meghan-markle-felt-forced-step-back-royal-roles-lawyers-say-security-appeal-11711293\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stepped back from frontline royal duties<\/a> in 2020. In May 2025, he <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/prince-harry-loses-court-appeal-restored-uk-security-11719960\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lost an appeal<\/a> over the issue.
