Lionsgate<\/a> U.K.\u2019s \u201cThe Housemaid<\/a>\u201d climbed to the No. 1 position at the U.K. and Ireland box office in its third weekend, grossing \u00a33.5 million ($4.7 million) and lifting its cumulative total to \u00a317.8 million ($24.1 million), according to Comscore<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a standout performance in the January awards corridor, Universal<\/a>\u2019s \u201cHamnet<\/a>\u201d delivered a $4.2 million opening across the U.K. and Ireland in second place, marking the strongest debut of the year so far among awards contenders. The launch topped openings for recent prestige titles including \u201cA Complete Unknown<\/a>,\u201d \u201cOne Battle After Another<\/a>\u201d and \u201cSinners<\/a>,\u201d and \u201cMarty Supreme<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
