The Dax is set to start Monday’s session with gains, according to price action in the futures markets. On Friday, Germany’s benchmark index closed 0.3% lower at 24,830 points. A renewed selloff in the technology sector dragged stocks lower in Europe and the United States.

Inflation is once again in the spotlight on Monday. Experts polled by Reuters expect German producer prices to have fallen 0.2% in June from the previous month. In May, they had still risen 0.3%. The data track prices for manufacturers’ products before they reach, for example, the wholesale and retail trade. They are seen as an early signal for overall inflation.

On the corporate side, the defense industry is moving to the forefront at the air show in Farnborough, UK, which begins on Monday, against the backdrop of the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. This year’s event is likely to be shaped more by growing global security risks than by the traditional contest between aircraft makers Airbus and Boeing for large civil orders.
