Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gomblat said Egyptian-Bosnian relations are gaining momentum as the two countries seek to expand cooperation in defense manufacturing and develop new industrial partnerships.
Gomblat made the remarks while attending the opening of the First Balkan Shield – Defense Industry Expo and Summit 2026 in Sarajevo, which runs from Sept 1 to 4 and brings together government officials, defense industry executives and experts from several countries.
The minister said that Egypt’s participation provides an opportunity to discuss cooperation with companies and institutions taking part in the exhibition and explore potential industrial partnerships involving companies affiliated with Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production.
During the event, Gomblat met Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Zukan Helez at the Egyptian pavilion. The two ministers discussed defense manufacturing cooperation and other areas of mutual interest.
Gomblat also presented the manufacturing and technological capabilities of Egyptian military production companies and met representatives of participating delegations and defense companies.
The exhibition is accompanied by discussions covering defense and security manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, additive manufacturing and logistics.
