The Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Plant (KZVV) has developed a new carriage for the towed version of the 155mm Bohdana howitzer. A representative of the KZVV, which produces self-propelled guns, said this in an interview with Defense.
“While we were making from the Soviet one, we have already developed a new carriage. In the coming months we will codify it and present it,” said a representative of the company.

Currently, the towed version of the Bohdana uses carriages from Soviet 152mm Hyacinth guns. According to a representative of the KZVV, this has allowed for savings on the cost of each howitzer.
“The gun carriage costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the Ministry of Defense warehouses had a bunch of Soviet 152mm towed howitzers lying around without shells. So they decided to take the carriages from there and save the army money on each howitzer. Even now, a number of these Soviet gun carriages remain in the warehouses,” he said.

According to a representative of the KZVV, the use of the new carriage will slightly increase the cost of the towed “Bohdana” – it will be about $1.8 million.

To transport the artillery system, a KrAZ-6322 truck is used, and in some cases, an MT-LB tracked transporter.
