July 7 (Reuters) – Defence companies from NATO member states gathered in Ankara on Tuesday for an industry \u200cforum held alongside the alliance’s annual summit, where \u200cseveral defence cooperation and procurement agreements were expected to be announced. <\/p>\n
Here are \u200bthe deals announced so far: <\/p>\n
SAAB <\/p>\n
The Swedish defence equipment maker said NATO will begin formal negotiations on the acquisition of up to 10 GlobalEye airborne early warning and control aircraft. <\/p>\n
CEO Micael \u200cJohansson told reporters \u2060the company could start deliveries as soon as 2030, and the final price would be \u2060roughly $400 million to $450 million per aircraft. <\/p>\n
LOCKHEED MARTIN, RHEINMETALL <\/p>\n
The two defence companies signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to jointly \u200bproduce ATACMS \u200bmissiles in Germany, a move \u200bthat would mark the \u200cfirst manufacture of the short-range ballistic missile outside the United States. <\/p>\n
NORTHROP GRUMMAN <\/p>\n
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said allies will buy up to five Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton high-altitude surveillance drones, with Norway, Finland, Germany and Denmark signing a letter \u200cof intent for the purchase. <\/p>\n
AIRBUS <\/p>\n
NATO \u200bwill launch a strategic airlift fleet \u200bof A400M transport planes \u200band expand its existing A330 MRTT tanker \u200cand transport fleet by one \u200baircraft, Rutte said. <\/p>\n
ISAR \u200bAEROSPACE <\/p>\n
German company Isar Aerospace signed a contract with Canada’s Maritime Launch Services to secure access to launch \u200binfrastructure and services \u200cat Spaceport Nova Scotia and improve its orbital launch \u200breadiness, NATO said in a statement. <\/p>\n
