It signals faster industrial scaling and growing international confidence in Ukraine’s weapons development.

Ukraine’s allies in NATO assess the growth of the defense industry since the start of the full-scale war at 54 times. Partners increasingly recognize Ukraine’s successes in developing the defense-industrial complex and long-range capabilities.

During a press briefing on the sidelines of the NATO summit, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga shared these conclusions.

I have such a privilege not to quote growth statistics in Ukraine; for me now this work is being done by our partners. One of our key ministers named the figure that Ukrainian defense has grown 54 times. This was announced by one of our key allies

– Andriy Sibiga

According to him, international partners increasingly recognize Ukraine’s successes in developing its own defense-industrial complex and long-range capabilities.

Ukraine has gained such unique experience. We can very quickly implement, manufacture, apply. And also improve the technologies that our partners share with us, among others. I have repeatedly heard how they themselves expressed admiration for how we apply it and how we are able to add innovations

– Andriy Sibiga

At the same time, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said that Ukraine is working with allies not only to obtain additional air defense resources but also to expand its own production of modern weapons.

According to Sibiga, work is ongoing to obtain licenses for the production of various types of weapons, including anti-ballistic systems. This is on the agenda. Specifically, licensing. Undoubtedly, anti-ballistic weapons or equipment will come. But the matter also concerns licenses in other directions and blocks. So everything should work for defense, he emphasized.

The minister also noted that Ukraine is negotiating with states that have anti-ballistic missiles in their stockpiles, as well as with partners who help facilitate the relevant dialogue with third countries.

According to him, simultaneously work is underway to increase Ukrainian defense-industrial capabilities to produce their own air defense systems with anti-ballistic capabilities.

Following the Ukraine-NATO Council meeting, Minister Sibiga stated that air superiority will determine the war’s further trajectory, so Ukraine needs urgent strengthening of air defense and missile defense.

Coordinating with events at the summit, allies emphasize Ukraine’s progress in the defense sector and the support from partners in strengthening collective defense.

A single figure surprised summit attendees.
