Raytheon has been awarded a $22.9-billion U.S. Navy contract to increase missile output.<\/p>\n<p>                                    (Provided by RTX Corp.)<\/p>\n<p>Weapons manufacturer Raytheon has been awarded a $22.9-billion U.S. Navy contract to increase Tomahawk missile output, with a production goal of more than 1,000 missiles annually.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tomahawk is the Navy&#8217;s most important strike weapon, able to target hostile forces hundreds of miles away without ever risking the lives of our sailors,&#8221; said Raytheon President Phil Jasper <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rtx.com\/news\/news-center\/2026\/08\/17\/rtxs-raytheon-awarded-seven-year-contract-for-tomahawk-cruise-missiles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">in a press release<\/a>. &#8220;We are making significant investments in our workforce, technology, supply chain and facilities to dramatically boost production capacity and meet surging demand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The seven-year contract comes as America\u2019s weapons stockpiles <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/news\/pentagon-congress\/2026\/08\/17\/us-awards-raytheon-229-billion-deal-to-boost-tomahawk-output\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">have been depleted<\/a> from the ongoing Iran war. Current missile production is about 60 missiles annually, although Raytheon noted that it delivered three times as many missiles during the first six months of this year as it did in the same period of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe called on industry to rapidly scale up munitions output, and RTX is delivering,\u201d <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SECNAV\/status\/2089324960728666575\" rel=\"nofollow\">posted<\/a> Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao on X.<\/p>\n<p>RTX Corp. is Raytheon\u2019s parent company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis landmark Tomahawk contract ensures our warfighters continue to have the lethal firepower they need,\u201d Cao added.<\/p>\n<p>In recent months, the U.S. government has been urging munitions manufacturers to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.americanmachinist.com\/news\/news\/55399342\/usn-awards-23b-for-tomahawk-cruise-missiles-raytheon?utm_source=IY+IW+QM+News&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=CPS260818077&amp;o_eid=7259J9464878D4L&amp;rdx.ident[pull]=omeda|7259J9464878D4L&amp;oly_enc_id=7259J9464878D4L\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">increase production<\/a>. In January, Raytheon received an additional $381 million to recertify and upgrade Tomahawk missiles under an existing contract.
