This expands the existing role of the DIVQ Program, which already enables Australian businesses to compete for opportunities in the Virginia Class supply chain supporting submarine construction in the US.

Through the DIVQ Program, which was established by the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA) in partnership with the US Government, ASC is helping Australian industry lift its systems, processes and technical capability to meet stringent US standards and requirements. Australian companies from WA, NSW and Victoria, have already successfully qualified through the program, with dozens more progressing through the national qualification program.

The expansion into sustainment work in Western Australia represents a significant new opportunity for Australian businesses to secure long-term, high-value work supporting the operational readiness of these submarines in-country.

ASC Chief Executive Officer Alex Walsh said Australian businesses don’t need defence industry experience to get involved. “Businesses with advanced manufacturing, engineering, systems, maintenance and supporting capabilities are encouraged to put themselves forward,” Walsh said. “This is a clear and immediate opportunity for Australian businesses to step into a critical role supporting the sustainment of Virginia Class submarines in Western Australia. “SRF-West will require a capable, responsive and highly skilled supply chain, and Australian industry has a vital role to play in delivering that capability. Now is the time to act, and ultimately position yourself and your business to support one of the most important defence programs in Australia’s history.”

From 2027, one UK and up to four US nuclear-powered submarines will maintain a rotational presence at HMAS Stirling, south of Perth. Known as Submarine Rotational Force – West (SRF-West), it is a critical step in preparing Australia to safely and securely own, operate, maintain and regulate its future fleet of nuclear-powered submarines from the early 2030s.

For Editorial Inquiries Contact:
Editor Kym Bergmann at [email protected]
For Advertising Inquiries Contact:
Group Sales Director Simon Hadfield at [email protected]

Australian businesses are being called to step forward and play a direct role in sustaining US-built submarines in…

[2
4548,3792,14,4549
post-7674","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","tag-asa","tag-asc","tag-defence-industry","tag-defence-industry-vendor-qualification
["GET
