Australian Missile Corporation (AMC) has formalised a partnership with one of the world\u2019s leading providers of 3D aerospace design and simulation software, further strengthening its digital engineering capability.<\/p>\n

Australian-owned AMC and French technology multinational Dassault Syst\u00e8mes chose the stage of today\u2019s Digital Engineering Symposium in Melbourne (Eds: Tuesday, September 1) to officially ink the partnership.<\/p>\n

The agreement will see AMC continue to collaborate with Dassault Syst\u00e8mes, as well as leverage and expand the Dassault Syst\u00e8mes suite of software on its mission to rapidly design, simulate, test and manufacture complex systems in the guided weapons space.<\/p>\n

AMC CEO Matt Gibson said the company had built its engineering capabilities around a \u201cdigital first\u201d philosophy, recognising that the successful delivery of advanced defence capability required modern, agile and highly connected engineering practices.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom day one, we have established AMC as a digital-first engineering organisation which has been critical in supporting our efforts to accelerate Australia\u2019s Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) program,\u201d Mr Gibson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a GWEO Enterprise partner, we are focused on building robust, sovereign engineering capability to support the nation\u2019s long-term defence needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cDassault Syst\u00e8mes\u2019 model-based engineering tools further enhance our ability to manage complex system and mission requirements, improve engineering discipline, and ensure traceability across the development lifecycle of the GWEO program.\u201d<\/p>\n

Founded in 1981, Dassault Syst\u00e8mes pioneered CATIA, a leading 3D design platform originally created for aerospace applications and other complex engineering programmes. In 1997, the company acquired SOLIDWORKS, one of the world\u2019s most widely used 3D CAD platforms in product design, simulation and manufacturing. Together, these platforms have since expanded into a comprehensive suite of digital engineering solutions through Dassault Syst\u00e8mes\u2019 3DEXPERIENCE platform.<\/p>\n
