Hanwha Aerospace plans to launch a Chunmoo User Club in South Korea in 2027, creating a formal network for countries operating its multiple rocket launch system. The forum will allow users to exchange operational experience and influence future upgrades, sustainment arrangements and capability development.<\/p>\n
The company announced the initiative during a workshop held alongside the fifth K9 User Club in Tartu, Estonia. About 40 military and industry representatives from South Korea, Poland, Estonia and Norway attended, together with delegates from other NATO countries.<\/p>\n
Poland, Estonia and Norway have joined South Korea as Chunmoo operators, expanding the system\u2019s international user base. Their different force structures, mission requirements and operating environments provide a broader pool of experience for the group.<\/p>\n
The forum will cover operations, training, maintenance, logistics, ammunition and lifecycle support. It will also give participating countries a channel to identify common requirements and areas where closer cooperation could improve fleet readiness.<\/p>\n
South Korea will host the inaugural meeting before responsibility rotates among participating countries. Future hosts will demonstrate how they operate, maintain and support Chunmoo under their own national conditions.<\/p>\n
Hanwha also plans to use operational feedback from members to guide the system\u2019s development. Lessons from missions, exercises, training and maintenance will inform future upgrades and support solutions.<\/p>\n
The company said the expanding user community could create opportunities for industrial cooperation. Chunmoo\u2019s modular architecture allows technology and capabilities from local companies to be integrated to meet country-specific requirements.<\/p>\n
The initiative draws on Hanwha\u2019s experience with the K9 User Club for operators of its self-propelled howitzer. Hanwha said the model would help turn its relationship with Chunmoo customers from equipment delivery into a longer-term partnership.<\/p>\n

Chunmoo is a modular long-range precision-strike system that can use several types of guided munitions with different ranges and mission profiles. Its launcher can be configured for a range of targets and battlefield requirements.<\/p>\n
Hanwha is developing improvements in range, precision, munitions and command-and-control integration.
