{"id":9014,"date":"2026-09-04T10:35:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T10:35:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/defence\/9014\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T10:35:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T10:35:17","slug":"elvo-invests-e40-million-to-expand-into-new-defence-technologies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/defence\/9014\/","title":{"rendered":"ELVO Invests \u20ac40 Million to Expand into New Defence Technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thessaloniki, Greece.\u00a0ELVO \u2013 Hellenic Vehicle Industries, Greece\u2019s foremost manufacturer of specialised military and civilian vehicles, is investing \u20ac40 million to expand and modernise its defence manufacturing capabilities while creating approximately 300 new jobs at its Sindos facility.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The investment will strengthen ELVO\u2019s existing military vehicle production while expanding the company\u2019s capabilities to manufacture additional defence systems and conduct R&amp;D, as well as incorporate SK Group know-how and technologies into ELVO\u2019s systems portfolio, including Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and anti-drone systems.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kssl.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/defence\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/kalyani_banner.jpg\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" alt=\"ads\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The programme will modernise and increase ELVO\u2019s core military vehicle production capacity while establishing new capabilities in emerging defence technologies. These investments will enable ELVO to meet the operational requirements of the Hellenic market, position the company to pursue growing export opportunities across international defence markets and become a major defence hub.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A key impact of the investment will be its contribution to employment and economic development in Northern Greece. ELVO has already begun recruiting for new positions, with approximately 300 new jobs expected to be created at its Sindos facility across specialised engineering, technical manufacturing and operational roles.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-129724\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/defence\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EMC.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\"  \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyond direct employment, the expansion is expected to strengthen the broader regional business ecosystem by creating opportunities for regional industrial partners and service providers, generating supply-chain synergies and supporting additional indirect economic activity throughout the region.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/raksha-anirveda.com\/?_dnlink=68821&amp;t=1718450850&amp;strack=1625197\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/defence\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/big_bang_RA.gif\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" alt=\"big bang\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u20ac40 million investment builds on the momentum created since ELVO\u2019s acquisition by SK Group, which has already invested more than \u20ac20 million to restructure the company, upgrade its facilities and streamline production workflows.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Implementation is already underway, with the projects being carried out in phases across ELVO\u2019s industrial complex in Sindos.
